Product Description

Ranjitha Gunasekarana's non-fiction reportage tells the story of 14-year-old Robin, who lived with his family in a slum on the banks of Cooum river in Chennai. Told across the span of a few years, we see Robin transform from a chatty, dreamy boy into a quiet, sullen teenager, whose life takes a dramatic turn when his family is evicted from their homes in the wake of a slum-free Chennai campaign.

Illustrated starkly in black and white, Aparajita Ninan's drawings capture the effect of displacement in the name of development, and the devastating toll it takes on people's lives.
